Katy has a flooring history no other market here shares. In August 2017 the Army Corps released water from the Addicks and Barker reservoirs, and thousands of homes inside the reservoir flood pools took water — including houses in Cinco Ranch and Bear Creek that were not in any mapped flood zone. A federal court later found the Corps responsible for the upstream flooding. What that means practically is that a Katy house may have been dried and rebuilt to any standard from excellent to nonexistent, and the remediation is often undocumented because it was handled through litigation or insurance rather than permits. We don't operate showrooms, so you aren't paying for retail floor space in your square-foot price. You still get to see and handle samples — we bring them to your house at the measure, in your own light, next to your own cabinets and trim, which is a better way to choose a floor than a fluorescent-lit showroom anyway. And because the same company supplies and installs, nobody gets to blame the other one if something goes wrong.
